On the other end, the absence of dialogue in EXYL’s animation Acid Green (2023) evokes identity and presence from the very fingerprints that are left behind on their claymation models.

If Grace Song’s Metadata (2021) stirs within a burntout film worker that something isn’t quite right, the coming-to-sentience of the inhabitants of Vicki Yang’s Scrnsave (2021) connote the slivers of freedom that accompany self-expression. Meanwhile, The Talking Bird (1967), a propaganda film by pioneer animator Ngô Mạnh Lân, portrays how a simple term such as “fight” retains its prowess as a rallying cry to desperate people.
